Vanessa grew up loving animals and was very involved in 4-H, raising and showing cattle. While in 4-H, she also showed her late dog Charlie. She has a purebred Toy Australian Shepherd named River, a Border Collie × Mini Aussie named Lou, and a purebred Holland Lop named Rueben (yes, like the sandwich).
She graduated from Olds College with a Veterinary Medical Receptionist certificate in 2025. She did her practicum here at the Carstairs Veterinary Clinic and really enjoyed her experience. Not too long after graduation, she was hired for a full-time position as a Client Care Representative here at the Carstairs Veterinary Clinic. Vanessa is excited to see where her career goes and is hoping to further her knowledge in the veterinary field as she gains more experience!
When she’s not at work, she’s either camping in the wilderness, baking some delicious treats for her family, hiking whenever she gets the chance, hunting deer and elk, or doing mechanics with her dad!
